Beautiful day, why not start it in church? The Epistle reading for Eucharist reminds us “And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching..”
Don’t neglect to meet together, and when you do, encourage one another! You’ll be glad you did.
“Don’t neglect to meet together and when you do, encourage one another”. Similar words about the importance of community were spoken by another Fr David today, my new church home, Christ Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
My prayers are with the Hurricane Michael Mission Team from St. Simon’s. I miss you and pray for you daily.
This morning before heading over to work at our job site, Paige read this passage to the Hurricane Michael mission team. Having spent these last two days together working to assist recovery efforts
in this town, those words took on very special meaning. Also words having special meaning were these spoken by Fr Tommy at the end of our worship service this morning “Be people of blessing. Be people of hope.” I pray we have been people of blessing and hope to all the beautiful people of PSJ.
David, this is so true. We started foyer groups 2 years ago that we call SIP DIP & CHAT. Everyone who has participated has found them a wonderful way to connect.
We plan to meet with the fine folk here in Port St. Joe. ?. See you all soon!
