The first lesson has some wonderful advice for all of us. Say one of the offices, MP or EP, and beeeee sure to read Ecclesiasticus. Then comment here on what you think about it. I wonder what the buzzz will be?

“… Before each person are life and death, and whichever one chooses will be given … ”
This verse leaped out at me – I hadn’t really thought before in how many countless small ways we make this choice every day. It’s interesting too thinking that God gives us what we choose.
What’s old is new again! (I’m not sure that makes me feel any better about things, though.)
This passage should be read before signing into any social media page. It truly speaks to our human condition—real time. I could “go political,” but am certain I should refrain.
I can say I was semi-conscious of this passage before having read it. These are the topics where my brain goes when I am not “busy with many matters.” I fall short every day (verse 4, 7-9, 10-11, so on and so forth).
I’m finding that I like Ecclesiasticus. Straight and to the point…and relevant! “Do not answer before you listen”…if only!
I had thought about writing a blog just quoting Ecclesiasticus daily through the mid-term elections and beyond, So glad to see your comments.
Great idea!
